At Southwest Exteriors, we stand behind the quality of our work and the materials we use. We understand that peace of mind is crucial when investing in home improvement projects. That's why we've compiled answers to the most frequently asked questions about our warranties.
Most manufacturer warranties cover the cost of any necessary product replacement and not the any labor that is required to complete the repair. The SWE warranty serves to prevent any additional costs incurred from labor on manufacturer covered warranty claims.
Depending on the manufacturer of your product, there may be a complimentary accidental glass breakage warranty. To find out more, you can call our office or review the warranty information provided to you from the manufacturer
Screen tears or damage are not covered under warranty, but SWE would be happy to come out and fix your screen for minimal cost.
Due to warm climate, caulk does wear overtime and should be reapplied every 10-15 years or when you notice that the caulk is dry, cracked or missing.
Product caulking is considered preventative maintenance that should be conducted by the homeowner and therefore is not covered under our warranty. However, if we determine that caulk was not appropriately applied during installation, we are more than happy to make it right. Additionally, if caulking is just worn due to normal aging, SWE will come out and repair it for the cost of our labor and materials.
SWE works with several different manufacturers who each have their own warranties. At the time of your final walk-thru, your project manager will give you information on your specific product warranty.
In most cases manufacturers require that your product be registered. However, as service to you, if product registration is required, SWE will handle this on your behalf.
Paint can fade as a result of the harsh Texas sun and therefore the normal ware is not covered. There are some times where issues with paint may be covered under the manufacturer warranty, but to be sure, it is best to reach out to SWE for assistance.
The reason a window or door is not shutting properly could be because of a variety of things, however most commonly is due to the shifting of the ground which is common in our area. Southwest Exteriors will come out and assess the situation to determine the cause. If it is because of improper installation or manufacturer defect, this will be covered. But, if the issue is due to foundation shifting, SWE will be happy to repair it but it is not covered under warranty.
