“Infinity is hands down the go-to for us unless someone specifically asks for Essential,” says Hooch.

Yes—and that’s good news. Both Marvin Essential and Infinity windows are made with Marvin’s proprietary Ultrex® fiberglass, which is known for being incredibly durable and low maintenance. They also both use Cardinal Glass, widely recognized as the top performer in residential glass technology.

So, in terms of base quality and energy efficiency, you’re in great shape with either option.

“In Texas, we see a lot of massive windows and custom shapes. That’s where Infinity shines,” says Hooch. "There were times in the past where we’d walk up to a house and know right away Essential wouldn’t work for several windows."

"There are only slight differences," says Hooch. "Infinity offers a couple of colors—like Sierra—that Essential doesn’t. Infinity also has the EverWood option, which is a wood-look interior that can be stained or painted."
